Jan 19, 2012 · It started on a Saturday night ran fine to town. On the way home railed it in fifth and shifted to sixth. Engine light came on. Checked the codes p1693 p1690. Cleared with snap on scanner. Next morning started up ran fine to town. On the way out of town, railed it again. Same problem. This time it started surging loping and missing.
P1693- Companion code. I have checked the fuel drainback valve in the pump, and cracked the lines to make sure the air is out of the lines. I also checked ECM voltage and APPS voltage and even reset it. All wiring seems to be good. The only thing the 1693 code is telling you is that you have another code. It is called a companion code. What ever tool you used to get the codes did not get answers from both computers. The good news is that right now the VP is ok. The bad news is that you still have a code and then you will find out what your problem is.
